Be Still and Know

Early this morning, I was meditating on God's Word and enjoying a Wawa coffee. I gazed into my sister's beautiful pool while the beams of light reflected off the water. I heard in my heart, "Be still and know I'm God" (Psalm 46:10)! There is a peace that soothes our souls as we gaze upon water, quiet our mind, be still, and reflect on the kindness and goodness of God!

I'm grateful for the past 5 years with my incredibly tender-hearted Mother! We laughed and enjoyed one another's company as we shared life together! She especially loved to hear all the stories and how the Lord moved while I ministered to the ladies, through Christ, on a Thursday night at the Berks County Prison Cell block. She enjoyed hearing how God's Word, and His presence set these women free to forgive themselves, leave their old life and live for Christ! We were always amazed how God moves in the darkest places!

Mom is enduring a raging battle with lung cancer and now pneumonia. I was with her all day yesterday as she has been admitted to the hospital for continued care. She is a picture of a very powerful and tangible Truth! The Apostle Paul, through God's Spirit, gave us this life changing key for enduring trials with joy and peace!

This is a divine life transforming secret:

  1. Be Joyful in the Lord! Rejoice knowing we are one with Christ. He lives inside of us, we have a great and wonderful Salvation now and forever! We must let our gentleness be known. The Lord is at hand!

  2. Be anxious for nothing! The Lord is giving us Himself!! He is the peace in our soul.

  3. Pray about everything with thanksgiving! God is listening always to our voice and the cries of our hearts.

  4. Now, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds! Receive His peace and Presence always! His peace in our hearts is the riches of life as we truly Trust in Him in the battle. Always know and believe He hears every prayer that aligns to His Word!

  5. Finally!!! Whatever things are true, just, pure, lovely, good report, if there is any virtue, and anything praiseworthy, MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS!! (Phil. 4:8)

Isaiah also encountered this peace..."You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on YOU" (Isaiah 26:3). He is truly our Life! He gave us His All... Jesus Christ!! Focus on this Truth.

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent his only begotten son into this world that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins" (1 John 4:7,9-10). Christ was the sacrifice. Wow this is incredible love that we must focus on in the midst of our trials!

I want to give a great big shout of love and thanks to my beautiful sister Mary Beth and her husband Randy for being the hands, feet, and love of Jesus Christ toward Mom during this difficult, challenging time!
